Neuroplasticity means nervous systems change with experience. That is one of the better-established ideas in the field. It does not mean you can rewire a personality on a slogan timeline, and it does not mean trauma writes a single permanent fate.

Definition
Experience-dependent change in nervous-system structure or function, at many timescales.
Plasticity is why learning and habit are possible. It is also why repetition sticks. Marketing uses the word as a magic wand. Science uses it as a family of mechanisms, many of which are slow, constrained, and context-dependent.
In simple terms
Your brain is not concrete. It is also not Play-Doh you reshape in three weeks. Practice changes what is easy. That takes repetition in a real context.
Scientific explanation
Habit research (Wood) shows context-response learning that can persist when goals change — a behavioral face of plasticity. Stress literature warns against “permanently destroyed brain” slogans as well as against miracle rewiring.
Psychology perspective
Behavior change is mostly cue, repetition, and payoff — not a new self-description.
Neuroscience perspective
Plasticity is not uniformly good. The system can get better at rumination too.
What research shows
Learning changes what the system does. Habit reviews document persistence after goal shift.

Pick a small action in a stable context and repeat it. Judge plasticity by what gets easier, not by a feeling of transformation.
